Be Prepared

I'm trying to finish a small piece in time to send it off to the SAQA Trunk Show. As is often the case, I have gotten a late start. Here's where things stand so far. (click on any of the pictures to enlarge)

Piles of flowersGood thing I have plenty of flowers made already

Stitch leavesI do need to stitch more leaves, though

Audition-flowers-leavesLoosely auditioning the flowers with some leftover leaves from another project

Be PreparedMy motto........          HA! NOT!!

I'll let you know if I get it done on time. In the meantime check out the other blogs over at Nina Marie's Off the Wall Fridays. I bet some of them have actually finished something!

Until next time -

Love the whimsical flowers, they look like they were fun to make. what have you used for the centers?

Thanks, Amy! I do love making the flowers even though they take awhile. The centers are circles cut out from the plastic plant tags that come in annual flower flats.

It's going to be gorgeous! Do hope you get it finished in time -- it has to arrive at Eileen's in less than two weeks! :-)

The flowers are made by looping craft wire around a center of cut plastic. In this case the plastic is cut from the little plant tags that come with annual flowers. I also use credit cards for my plastic. Another name for the technique of looping is knotless netting.

So wonderful, Martha... please finish and alert Eileen so she will make sure to know this piece is coming! This one needs to be in the line up and who knows - headed to Paducah?
